The transmitted optical energy would be distributed on the surface of the cone when the laser travels along one of the optical axis of biaxial crystal, the conical laser taking the form of "the funnel shape" will be produced in or out the crystal. The whole energy of the conical laser distributes above the conical surface, this will develop the new domain for the laser application. In order to enable the conical laser to obtain the practical application, Firstly, the hollow conical laser production theory is further studied in the paper. To the theoretical research on the conical laser, mainly according to the rule that light disseminates in biaxial crystal, the equation that cone angle satisfied is infered and calculated under the circumstances of the inner cone refraction and the outer cone refraction, thus provides the rationale and the basis for the hollow conical laser control.Secondly, the characteristic of the hollow conical laser traveling in atmosphere is analyzed. Mainly analyze the characteristic of the outer cone refraction laser, which produces to the biaxial crystal traveling in atmosphere. Under the circumstances of that aperture or conical angle of laser is invariable and conical laser travels along horizontal, vertical and slant routes, the basic equation of intensity attenuation of the conical laser is obtained and the time curve of transmissibility vs. transmission distance is given, thus the characteristic and rule of the conical laser traveling in atmosphere is disclosed.
