Web-Based OCR Data Services

Nowadays, in the development tendency of IT industry, data services become a focus of people's attention. How to implement data services by present technology and how to evolve legacy systems into new systems is becoming an important direction of current software engineering researches. With the development and popularization of Internet, many existing application systems, which based on traditional software system, require to be upgraded and be restructured to the system based on Internet/Intranet.Software engineering and reengineering theory will facilitate to effectively reuse legacy systems, meet the requirement of the new software life cycle model. According to relative knowledge and the disciplined reengineering methods, this paper research and analyze the existing system and protect the investment on the present system.This paper researches how to implement data services by Internet and OCR technology. Firstly, it analyzes present development tendency of data services as a whole and introduces OCR technology and OCR software TypeReader. Then it discussed and sums up the software reengineering theories and methods. It also indicates the practical requirement and detailed resolution in the works based on Web.It details the adoptive technology and method of WEBOCR technology, instant service and offline service and with a summarization in the end.
