Along with the development of technology , the performance of LED (light-emitting diode) attains new achievements which make the spectrum of LED devices cover the range of natural light, especially after the high light blue LED devices coming out. Therefore, the large flat panel display screen, manufacturing with LED, becomes the main application of LED. The LED devices consume significantly less power and the best feature of the electronic display screen which composed of LEDs is that the screens don't limited by area and can reach decades, even hundreds of square meters. They are applied to display many kinds of information in buildings and out, such as characters, graphs, pictures, moving imaginations and videos. They provide great effects of advertisements and social activities and make people's living condition better.The MCU is the control core in the traditional LED display system. Its function is simply and cannot match the requirement of complex process capability. The paper is to describe a new control system of LED colorized display screen based on CPLD. First of all, it introduces the technology of LED display briefly. And then the paper explains the part of high-speed data transmission and sub-control board amply in scheme selection, design method, implement of hardware circuits and software debugging. The new design completes the transmission system in two methods. One is based on HDMP-1022 and HDMP-1024. The other uses the driver and equalizer to match the requirements of data speed and link between the cases based on LVDS solution. Then the main characters of DS92LV16 and the test results are presented. In addition, the article focuses on how to realize the performance of the EPM570 with VHDL. The outcome of simulation and hardware experiment show the system is able to accomplish the high speed transmission rate around 600Mbps and reveal the image information on LED board controlled by sub-board completely.
