IP VOD System

We can only listen to the radio and watch TV passively for ages as the unilateral broadcast mode of TV Transmission. Users can watch the program they like at any moment with the appearance of VOD, which changes the passive style of information acquirement and attracts many people。IP VOD is an important part of network multimedia application, which provides video and audio VOD services for people through network. With establishing and using of board-band and board-band access network, the application of VOD based IP is increasingly widespread.I realize an IP VOD system on windows platform with Visual C++ tool. In this system, I apply Socket to the communication between server and client, and DirectShow SDK packet provide for streaming media management on windows platform by Microsoft company to the play of streaming data on client-side.In my paper, I firstly present some basic concept of VOD, and also some theory of basic technologies related with my IP VOD system, such as streaming media and transmission mode, etc. Development tools and their usage adopted in the system are introduced in the third chapter. Finally, I present the basic frame and flow of IP VOD system and technologies in detail.
