Starting from introduction to Architectures of C/S and P2P, advantages of streaming media platform based on C/S are analyzed as well as disadvantages. Some present solutions based on P2P are introduced. A P2P sharing model with using of streaming media technology is put forward. Different from common P2P sharing model, a peer in this model who wants to enjoy media content on other peers don't need to download these media files. Media files are transmitted with RCT/RTCP between peers as well as live video/audio stream data. Based on extensibility of JMF, a custom Player plug-in is implemented to integrate Microsoft's Media Player. At last,summarize and prospect on development of streaming media technology on the P2P field are given.
