Digital TV Set-Top Box is the intermediate product from Analog TV to Digital TV, and the source decoder is the key component of STB. In this dissertation, the assignment is to research and implement the source decoder of set-top box compatible with DVB-C.The source decoder is based on LSI Logic's SC2005 single chip solution, which accomplishes demux, video and audio decoder, image processing, DAC and so on. After the Transport Stream (TS) is demuxed, video and audio information is decoded separately. CVBS and S-video signal is transported out after the Mixer/Encoder, and dual track stereo is exported after DAC. The function of ATA Hard Disk Storage and PVR is supported in the source decoder.Referring to the implementation of the hardware of the source decoder and the demo software of the Development Platform, the software of the driver and application layer of STB is developed. By using graphic design and program, our aim to make GUI clean and easy is achieved; by using Chinese font, Chinese character display is implemented. With the help of LSI's EJTAG and RS-232 port, the source decoder system has been debugged and tested, and the expected function and performance is achieved.In the dissertation, Digital TV STB, MPEG-2 and DVB standard are briefly introduced at first, and the main chip SC2005 and pSOSystem RTOS are presented. Then the design of the hardware and software of the source decoder is presented in detail, and my own work on it is reported. Finally, the debugging information and test result is mentioned.
