As key parts of infrared imaging system, Infrared Focal Plane Array detector represents development direction of infrared imaging technology. In practical applications, because processing materials and making art have an effect on detector, nonuniformity and bad pixel between detector units arise and thus it leads to the fall of imaging quality, restricts the applications of IRFPA detector. Therefore, nonuniformity and bad pixel must be resolved on imaging systems of infrared focal plane array nowadays. The history, present condition and development trend are elaborated detailedly.The paper analyzes the producing reasons, characteristics of nonuniformity and bad pixel. The paper discusses a few common methods of nonuniformity, bad pixel detection and bad pixel compensation, and indicates their merit, shortcoming and their applying situation. Aimed at the problems of Infrared Focal Plane Array detector, the paper engages research in the contents as follows:1. Aiming at the problem of two-piont nonuniformity precision and big operation quantity of curve couvading, a new nonuniformity method is put forward, which is based on linearity nonuniformity method. This method will divide the segment advaptively according to giving precision. Comparing with the traditional method, precision of this method has improved obviously, at the same time, this method avoids incertitude brought by man. This method simplifies the complexity of method on the premise of assuring precision, and this method realizes easly on hardware.2. This paper advances a new method of bad pixel detection based on window. The bad pixel detection based on demarcation is in common use, but which is incapable for the situation of the changed environment and times. Owing to this, this paper advances a kind of bad pixel detection based on scene, which does't need experiment demarcation and can finish bad pixel detection and orientation only using the on-line datas. The result of simulation shows that this method is an effective method of bad pixel detection, which has a better appliance foreground.3. Based on analyzing existing methods of bad pixel compensation, an improved method of bad pixel compensation is introduced.The improved method is based on the merits of...
