Remote fault diagnosis system combines traditional fault diagnosis with telecommunication, network technology, computer science, modern digital signal processing theory and auto-control technology. It greatly changes the structure of fault diagnosis, and makes up for the limitation of traditional system. Data acquiring system is the forepart of the remote fault diagnosis. It is in charge of acquiring data real-time, data processing and data transfer.With the development of communication technology, especially the development of computer science technology, a new testing instrument technology appeared. Generally, we can split testing instrument up into three parts: data acquiring, data processing and result showing and recording. A certain object is the target of traditional instrument, which is usually fixed and simple. Combining with software and hardware of testing instrument and computer, virtual instrument can take the place of traditional instrument. Virtual instrument actually is a new testing and automatization system based on computer. The data acquiring system developed in this paper is actually a virtual instrument system.To meet the demand of real-time, DSP is adopted in the system. DSP must process data and send Data to enterprise database via mainframe.
