WSN (wireless sensor network) nodes oriented to the application of sound target detection, are designed and implemented in this paper. With ATmega128L as processor module and CC1000 as communication module, the WSN nodes are efficient in power consumption and small in size. The paper gives a detailed description of the design and implementation of the node function modules, such as processor module, communication module, sensor module, energy module. Then the important parameters of the nodes, including communication range, power consumption and node lifetime ,are calculated and tested ,and an analysis of the factors affecting them is made in this paper. Finally, a series of experiments are carried out to test the performance of nodes in sound collection. The results show that the WSN nodes designed in this paper can fulfill the needs of target detection. Besides, to reduce the data and save energy of the node,we even study data aggregation of WSN and propose an in-network data aggregation algorithm, which is charactered by choosing the Maximal sound strength. The simulation results of the aggregation algorithm show that it can effectively reduce the data of the whole network and save energy of the node.
