Wireless sensor network have begun to emerge which have sensing ability, computing power and communication ability in recent years with the micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) technology, embedded computing technology and wireless communications technologies increasingly mature. Wireless sensor network technology is one of the most important technologies in the 21st century, it has broad application prospects in such areas as national defense, environmental monitoring, health care, antiterrorism.Firstly, this paper researches and achieves sound source positioning system which based on the wireless sensor networks, designs the wireless sensor nodes hardware platform, does deep analysis from the choice of main chips to the design of circuit, details the design principles of the data-processing module, wireless transceiver modules and signal acquisition module. Secondly, the paper researches the technology of the sound signal collection, analyses the correlative factors which affect the sampling frequency of the signal, adopts the sliding window average method to achieve the smoothing filter, brings forward the relevant processes and methods of signal post-processing. Finally, the paper analyses the problems that exist in the TPSN time synchronization algorithm, gives the solution to the problem and brings forward a modified TPSN algorithm. The paper educes equation solving process of the plane positioning sound source, introduces the sound source positioning algorithm, researches Tiny-OS operating system based on the component-based structure, makes the modified TPSN algorithm come true, develops the data-processing terminal software and elements sound source location algorithm. The experimental data was analyzed and the arithmetic is improved to be feasible at the same time.
