With the energetical extension of the Embedded System, embedded productsdevelop rapidly and have been applied in quite many fields.Under this requirement,embedded multifunctional instrument is presented and implemented. The instrumentuses S3C2410 chip as kernel processor to construct the hardware platform.High-powered hardware supports the software's accomplish of the instrument basicinterface's function and communication transfer's function. The aim of the paper is toresearch and soft implement the application of multifunctional instrument based on theARM9hardwareplatform.The paper introduces the character and the newest development trend of ARMmicroprocessor and Embedded System, so the S3C2410 chip and the Embedded LinuxSystem are chosed as the kernel of hardware and software resource. The EmbeddedLinux System is explanted to the hardware platform based on ARM and the system'sacross-compile environment is set up, which constructs the development base forsoftware realization of the instrument function. By detailedly analyzing the hardwarecircuit and functional realization theory of every module of the instrument, the paperpresents the software's design method and implements the function of the instrument'sbasic interfaces, including the data or file's transfers by the serial and net, the imagedisplay by LCD and VGA, the actual application of touch screen and outside memorydevice, the realization of the SCPI command interpreter. Also, according to thecharacter and main function of electrical measure equipment, the graphical interfacesand menus are built by MiniGUI resource in the mode of man-machine conversation.By finishing the function of wave data's display, storage, frequency analyses .etc, thedependability and feasibility of the multifunctional instrument platform's design areproved.The realization of the software platform supplies convenient and multifunctionalinstrument to users, and also provides a study platform to other learners who want toconsummate soft work of later derivative hard interface based on this platform. Theembedded multifunctional instrument has the advantages of flexible structure, powerfulfunction, extensive application range, easy operation and so on, so it increases theworks'efficiencyandcutsdownthetotalcostoftheequipment.
