With the fast development of GSM-R in China as well as railroad great-leap-forward development plan, the applications of GPRS will be used in railway widely. Railroad business requests that having higher security, reliability and real time nature. But radio carries resources in our country are extremely limited. Therefore in order to adopt GPRS on our country railroad, the application methods of GPRS in railway will be very important. So it is very important to study the GPRS in railway applications. Based the analysis of GPRS and the applications in railway, a rational transmission way and transfer platform is built to resolve the contradiction of the large business and limited frequency resource.The main body of this thesis is planted in having brought forward one mainly realizing platform's under railroad application with GPRS as synthetic data transmission of railroad technology structuring a scheme, for network construction of GPRS and application provide the reference and the basis in the days to come in GSM-R network. The first chapter gives an overview of the history for GSM-R and GPRS in railway application all over the world, pointing out the importance to study the GPRS QoS in railway applications. The second chapter introduces the GPRS technology characteristic, the characteristic that the railroad applies and the railroad applies various GPRS business. The third chapter provides a solution of Railway information access platform based on GPRS. The fourth chapter schemes according to third chapters, explained a realization of information platform in Qingzang railway. The last chapter draws a conclusion and points out the fields for further study.
