Computer-aided control system design (CACSD) has become extremely impor-tant in performance analysis and controller design of control systems. A general pur-pose CSCSD software package called Neoclassical Control Toolbox has been devel-oped from the available control theory and algorithms. Equipped with many newfunctions and modules, it is intended to help control system designers improve thedesign efficiency and precision. As a key feature, it supports lots of new approachesin some particular area, which greatly simplifies each design step, swiftly leading tofeasible result. The aim of this thesis is to give a detailed description about this toolbox. Someimportant aspects and difficult points are addressed, as well as how to use it is pre-sented. The toolbox mainly includes the following three parts:·The Riemann sphere GUI·The multi-input-single-output (MISO) Transfer Fun module·Dozens of control functionsThe Riemann sphere GUI system can help us draw the Riemann plot and do allkinds of complicated computations related to it. The MISO Transfer Fun module canbe used conveniently for the design of two-degrees-of-freedom (2DOF) controllersand the simulation of MISO systems. Dozens of control functions can help us docontrol system design and analysis in some particular fields. All the modules andprograms in the package have been tested repeatedly. The results justify their goodperformance. Each of the programs in the software package proves correct, and satis-fies the required design precision. A good number of simulation examples show thatthe design efficiency and precision can be greatly improved by using this softwarepackage. Moreover, the use of this toolbox will greatly enrich our design measures.
