Nowadays,the technology of electronics music synthesis is playing an important role in the field of digital audio.Up till now, the technology of Wavetable Synthesis has been widely used,taking the advantages of excellent effect of timbre , easy to integrated and its low cost. The article begins with some introductions of the basic theory and some advantages of wavetable synthesis,together with the correlative knowledge of its primary object—MIDI(Musical Instrument Digtal Interface) .Then from the research of MIDI file's style and its implementation mode, it provides principles and steps to turn the tone of all kinds of instruments into the wavetable by a special data compacting way,according to the characteristic law of music tone or other sounds and the principle of the Wavetable Synthesis, using the technology of ADSR envelope,pitch shifting,region,etc. It also provides a great convenience for the integration of wavetable synthesizer by the implementation of the stucture of wavetable voice rom through high-density mask rom process in the industry.Based on the above, the article proposes a general frame of multiple channel wavetable synthesizer. In virtue of hardware describe language and schematic diagrams, it provides detail definitions and implementations of every module involved. It also provides the function flow of the cooperation of the hardware and software accoding to the program in the circuit.At last the article describes the general design process and methods of the circuit which is composed of the ready IP module and cell library provided by foundry. It provides an realization of the integration of eight channel wavetable synthesizer in a single chip using csmc 0.4μm high density memory SPDM technology process, which takes advantage of the methodology of Hardware-software Co-simulation, with the aids of HDL description, logic synthesis and fpga tools, aiming at improving performance of every module in the circuit, and makes it possible for the total implementation and verification of the circuit. After the product has been put into the market with a high yield ,it brings great economic benefit for our company with a broad market prospect.
