As the core of the NGN, the softswitch should have the unite service interface; But from the development of technology to say,the softswitch developed from the VOIP technology, so the current models of the softswitch implement support the unite service very little and always have some lack. For example, it has no formal service interface or control module so that the communication can be only by original signal or private message and it makes the service difficult to increase or change; Because the application server use signal directly to communicate with the softswitch, it makes the logic and communication control of services commixxed and makes the application of the softswitch system complex; It needs the protocal having the ability of carring service information, but fewer have it, so it increase the difficulty of protocal.Based on the beyond background, the paper does some research on the interface of softswitch. It put forword the improved thought to MGC model's softwitch after introducing the unite service interface technology and the mode of the softswitch applications. Based on the current lack of softswitch mode, the improved thought is using the independent service layer to manage the service and sevice interface, so it can make the service layer independent using the mode of API to communicate with application server.It provide a instance of the the softswitch unite service interface communicating with 300 voice serve center and voice box that apply the service of 300 telephone and voice leave word to disribe the woking flow of the unite service interface.
