PDF417 two-dimensional barcode was invented by Symbol Technologies Inc of America in 1990s. China also published the national standard of PDF417 two-dimensional barcode in December, 1997. PDF417 based on traditional one-dimensional bar codes principle is created by piling some one-dimensional bars together. It has the advantages of large information stored (1.1 kilobytes of machine-readable data), coding widely, high secrecy and anti-fake, good reliability of decoding, high modifying performance, easy making and low cost and changeable shapes of bar code symbols, etc. PDF417 widely used at home and abroad is warmly welcomed by the users since coming out.The text starts with the background of the task, analyses the current common invoice models of tax system, and points out the open questions of current management. The author discusses the superiority of applying PDF417 2-D barcode in anti-fake invoice and puts forward the global anti-fake system design project. Also, based on the national standard of PDF417, the author discusses the algorithm of generating, recognizing, modifying, encoding and decoding of 2-D barcode, completes the design effort of hand-holding 2-D barcode scanner based on the technology of DSP and gives the detailed algorithm description and instance. It's a useful explore of combination of information technology and taxation management and will brings active affects to the anti-fake management of taxation invoice.
