WCDMA HSUPA is a kind of radio access technology which can provide higher uplink bit rate and capacity. In order to reach the peak bit rate in uplink of physical layer, extremely low spreading factor is applied in HSUPA. Multi-path interference can not be suppressed effectively because of weak partial autocorrelation of scrambling code and low spreading gain. Thus, the performance of conventional RAKE receiver can't meet the requirement of 3GPP. A kind of improved uplink receiver architecture based on conventional RAKE receiver of WCDMA R99 is put forward, it can eliminate ISI and recover the orthogonality of multi-code channel. The main studies and results are shown as follows:(1) The implementation of algorithm for uplink RAKE receiver in WCDMA R99 is discussed. The system model of uplink RAKE receiver in WCDMA R99 is designed, three key technologies including multi-path monitor, channel estimation and multi-path combination are discussed in detail. The implementation of multi-path detector is developed, the formula for implementation of channel estimation and channel compensation in WCDMA uplink is derived. Moreover, the FIR filter length of WMSA CE algorithm is simulated and analyzed. At last, the formula for implementation of MRC in WCDMA uplink is derived.(2) The architecture of an improved RAKE receiver called IC-RAKE is presented. IC-RAKE combining the interference cancellation with RAKE receiver is developed, it is based on conventional RAKE receiver architecture employed in WCDMA R99 system. The design model for IC-RAKE is presented, and algorithms for main models are studied.(3) The performance of several kinds of uplink receivers is simulated and compared. The simulation link on MATLAB platform and simulation steps are...
