Study Of Technology Of Web Services Description Based On Semantic Web

With the development of World Wide Web, Web Services based on XML solves the problem of transportation incompatible between application programmers which are in different structure systems. And a series of technologies for web services such as SOAP, WSDL and UDDI becomes more and more mature. This makes the solution based on web services become a kind of competitive solution. However, the requirement of web services is changing. With more and more web services in the internet, implementing the automatic discovery and composition of web service, making the web service adapt the user's special requirements and realizing so-called service on demand are the important developments of the web services in future.To realize this object, the machine should comprehend web service, that is to say, the service's description should include the semantic information. The semantic web's object is solving the problem of machine's comprehension with the information in the internet. Though combining with ontology, with the development of technologies such as RDF, RDFS and OWL so on, semantic web is able to describe the information which can be comprehended by machines.The object of the dissertation is realizing web services' semantic description, based on the requirements of web service, with the semantic web technologies. The main points of this dissertation are described as follows:(1) It designs a web services description model-WSDM based on the WSDL's conceptional model and OWL-S.In the foundation of analysis on the requirement of web services' description, it researches and analyses the WSDL's conceptional model and OWL-S for the services' descriptions. Then, it brings a general web service description model-WSDM. In the model, it brings the semantic description on the existent concepts of web service; in addition, some descriptions are added to represent services' characters such as the quality of web service, the categorization of web service; the description of developers' information is added.(2) It realizes the service's description model-WSDM, depending on the technologies of X M L and ontology description.
