Research Of Application Of Communication Technology Of WLAN Based On Ship

With the development of network system on ship, the demand of system is becoming more and more exigent. Traditional way of communication can't reach the demand of data transmission. The flaw of traditional communication has seriously restricted the development of the network system on ship. Therefore, the technology of transformation and promotion are the urgent need of network system now.The paper is based on the understanding of traditional transmission mode, proposed a kind of new network technology, namely Wireless LAN (WLAN), effective complete the data transmission of system interior and exterior(Command system, and so on). Combined with the characteristic of navigation display and control platform and through the software and hardware transformation, it realizes the diversity of network system on ship.The dissertation consists of research and analyzes on WLAN communication technology and IEEE802.11 protocol, the application of WLAN communication and the software design of driver of WLAN card. Firstly, it analyzes the 802.11 protocol, concluding the structure and the layers of the protocol; Secondly, it gives the new plan of network system on the existing system; After that, it builds the hardware system by adding the WLAN card based on Integrated Navigation Display & Control Console . Last, the work finishes the function modules and the driver of WLAN card, and the system is test.This software was designed on the basis of the embedded real time operation system (RTOS) VxWorks, under the integrated developing environment (IDE) Tornado2, and it kept to the developing process for embedded software. And the result of the test indicates that the system could take the job and the task work normally.
