Research And Application Of Decision Support System Based On Data Mining And Online Analytical Processing

Database technique, which quickly developed and was widely used, leads to appearance of phenomenon, which could be described as 'too much data, too little knowledge'. How to draw useful knowledge from the large number of business data to support decision-making in policy-making layer is the desire of enterprise, and also is the key problem that we face. The birth and development of Decision Support System (DSS) provide an effective solution to this problem.Firstly, By analyzing the present research and development of DDS, This paper point out that the technology of online analysis processing (OLAP) and data mining (DM) provide new direction to the development of DSS. So the paper brings forward a DSS model that bases on the technology of OLAP and DM. Relational database is the object processed by the DSS model. Besides using some traditional data-cleaning methods, this paper put forward some techniques for detecting and correcting error in database. Because the present structure of table in database often can't be applied to DDS directly, we bring forward applying object oriented thought to transforming tables' structure, which attains good effect.Secondly, element and outline of OLAP are investigated, based on which we implement multi-dimensional query and the update of the multi-dimensional data set by the technique of MDX, ADO MD and DSO.
