Forest resources information management systems (FRIMS) are complicated systems which are integrated with computer applications technology, 3S technology, database management and Network technology. Looked into the facts of FRIMS development in recent years, one could find out that problems such as systems'sole function and low generalization are very common. These pitfalls seriously hinder the modernization of forest resources information management. One of the main reasons which cause such kind problems is lack studies on the theories and methods of comprehensive evaluating for FRIMS.Based on current evaluation methodologies and the characteristics of FRIMS, this thesis discusses methods about evaluation FRIMS. It summarizes the actuality of FRIMS'development, analyzes the speciality and complexity of FRIMS projects vs common IS projects. It also states the effects of comprehensive evaluation FRIMS to promote modernization of forest resources information management. Through researches available comprehensive evaluation theories, it gives steps for assessing FRIMS. At the same time, this thesis constructs a multi-perspectives and multi-levels comprehensive evaluation indices system which suitable to evaluate FRIMS. After analyzes different evaluation methods, it chooses AHP and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, and constructs a multi-hierarchies fuzzy FRIMS evaluation model which is composed by three parts: system construction, systematic capability and systematic implementation. After all, it uses this evaluation model assessing 2 case systems. The result of case studies shows both FRIMS evaluation indices system and multi-hierarchies fuzzy...
