The Spatial Decision Support System Based On Web Services(SDSSWS), in which Web Services are used as bridges and communication centers between data / model providers and data / model users, can successfully improve the sharing and integration of models and data ,and can overcome the limitations of current SDSS such as not being able to run models with spatial data of different structures, having difficulties in developing , debugging and maintaining cross-platform systems. The aim of this research is to study the techniques of SDSS based on Web Services, and to discuss the functions of spatial decision models within network environment. Models and data, distributed in different servers, are published as Web Services, so that they can be accessed and integrated without difficulty. A new system integration mechanism is also provided to facilitate the development of SDSS.In this paper, we first introduce the related techniques of SDSS and Web Services. Then we bring forward the method to encapsulate and publish models as Web Services, the ways to register and search Web Services. We discuss the standard of model-encapsulation, construct uniform model/data interfaces, and set up the universal model-accessing interfaces, so that different users can get others ' models, and integrate them into their own system. Then we set up a model management system based on UDDI, it can manage the models that are registered in UDDI center, and provide the users the information of models. We also design the Schema of spatial data based on GML, in order that different data can be described and transferred in a uniform format.
