A Study On Media Representing Of Migrant Workers' Image

The migrant worker issue is among the top issues in China society, and the mass media is highly connected with this issue. Based on the research work on this topic, this paper adopts content analysis method, through the focus on the three major Chinese newspapers in which the image of migrant worker has been represented, and the paper analyzes the bias of media. The research tells us that the government, urban area, rural area media have the strength on report type, report mature and report content respectively. Since the twenty years ago, the image of migrant worker has changed in the newspapers of three types. At last, the article comparing with the investigational research in sociology, at the whole, discovers the mistakes of the migrant worker image representing and the causes and effects of the mistakes or bias. It stresses the media supervision should be enhanced, the reports'quality should be improved by correspondents and all channel reports and topics on migrant workers should be put first for the audiences, therefore the image of migrant worker will be objective and the media reports will be fair.
