The Workflow Modeling Instrument Based On Eclipse Technology

The workflow modeling instrument is a XPDL managing visual defining instrument. It is the workflow manage system' s interface 1 which is defined by WfMC. The thesis is divided into four parts as follows:(1) Analyse and design the entities of the workflow package. The primary entities in the workflow package are: Process, Activity, BlockActivity, SubFlow,Transition, DataField, Application,Participant and FormalParameter.(2) Analyse and design the workflow modeling instrument. It is analysed and designed from function,frame,GUI and so on.(3) Realize the workflow modeling instrument. The workflow modeling instrument is taped to the Eclipse plug pattern.So far as deploy the plug into Eclipse, it can run the workflow modeling instrument in virtue of the Eclipse platform. The core technology to tap the workflow modeling instrument is GEF technology. GEF is an OpenSource graphics edit frame. It sustains MVC frame which separates model, view and control.(4) Test the workflow modeling instrument. Realize a application system based on the B/S structure and use this system test the flow which is designed by the workflow modeling instrument. The test result indicates: the flow which is designed by the workflow modeling instrument can carry out the construct, start and finish of the Process instance; it also can also can carry out the construct and the submit of the Activity instance.The workflow modeling instrument can define the workflow using visual flow. It conserves the flow definition information into the XPDL file and also can carry out validity inspect to the flow definition.
