Methane gas, which is the main component gas in coal, is the incipient fault for geological especially colliery explore for it is flammable and explosive. Therefore, methane detection is important for security in coal mine. However, the existed methane detection system are lower integrated, single point measurement and unable to indicate. In this paper, investigation of intelligent methane detection system was proposed. The full information of methane concentration can be given through multipoint measurement. Except for the dynamically real-time detection, history data can be compared with, and then the change trend of methane concentration can be presented. After comparing with the threshold inside, indication can be given. In order to make every station to accommodate more sensors, and then realize multipoint measurement of complicated methane concentration distribution, the investigation key is to lower power consumption, increase response rate and extend the data transfer distance without error.Investigation of Low consumption intelligent methane sensor can be processed from hardware and software.
