With the quick development of soliton-optic transmission system in fiber-optic telecommunication field, the quality and capacity of soliton transmission gets more and more attention.Pulse jitter is a important indexes of pulse transmission.Jitter affects greatly the Bit Error Rate and the accuracy of optical communication and limits the capacity of soliton transmission.The work of this paper is focused on the research of the timing jitter of soliton-optic pulses. The major research aspects are as follows.Firstly, the paper analyzes the sources of jitter during optical transmission and mainly considers two jitter sources here which are respectively amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) noise induced timing jitter and interchannel cross-phase modulation (XPM) induced timing jitter.Secondly, this paper analyzes these jitters by means of theoretic computing and numerical simulation respectively.for ASE-induced timing jitter, An approach is present ,which extends the idea of the linear...
