It is also being increasingly used for providing end to end security for mobile commerce transactions. Being independent of the underlying bearer, WAP can operate transparently over a range of wireless bearers (e.g., GSM, CDMA, and PDC), which allows easy portability across network technologies and usage in a variety of mobile applications. Wireless data networks present a more constrained communication environment compared to wired networks. Because of fundamental limitations of power, available spectrum, and mobility, wireless data networks tend to have: less bandwidth, more latency , less connection stability and Less predictable availability. It is important for wireless user when WAP protocol was published which is suitable for wireless telecommunication. WAP has many advantages. WAP strives to provide advanced services in a useable and attractive way in order to promote increased usage of the mobile network services and to decrease the turnover rate of subscribers by network operator. It can use WML which is developed and extended more easily by content provider. WAP is not only a browse but also a data electrograph. It provides many rich and colorful service for terminal user.This paper is about designing and developing WAP Gateway and how to use it to visit WAP Information Server. It introduces the fuction of BearBox and WapBox in detail, which are the main modules of WAP Gateway. Its main contents are as follows: the design of the working flow, the code, debug and the test results. Chapter 1 introduces the background of the WAP technology and the evolution of WAP protocol.
