Telecom Operation/Business Support System (BOSS for short), is an incorporate, resource-shared support system for telecom carriers. It consists of network management, system management, billing, business, accounting and customer service etc. It can help telecom carriers combine inner work flow, operate with high-level efficiency and low cost, expedite the process of developing new operations, and improve the loyalty of customers. And it is one of the key factors for telecom carriers to enhance their core competence.Telecom Billing and Accounting System is an important part of BOSS. In recent years, amalgamation, modularization and real-time system are the development directions of Telecom Billing and Accounting System.Telecom Network Management System is another important part of BOSS. It makes telecom network operate safely and efficiently.With the development of the 3rd generation mobile telecommunication (3G), we need to implement much more requirements in relevant Billing and Accounting System, and Network Management System.In this thesis, the author talks about the status and trend of Telecom Billing and Accounting System and Telecom Network Management System, and furthermore, introduces the design and core techniques of two 3G-oriented system development projects, as well as what the author did in the two projects.
