Research Of Three-tier Client/Server Architecture And Its Application In Local Billing&Accounting System

The three-tier Client/Server Architecture based on the middleware hasadvantages as follows: 1) It holds the functions that two-tier does not have;2) Itsatisfies the system with stability, reliability, expansibility, security and the linksamong the heteroideous systems. At present, it is widely used in large-scale and keytransaction processing areas, such as finance, telecom etc.I chose the Local Billing & Accounting System from a filiale of CNC(ChinaNetcom) in Hengshui as my subject in order to study the character, technology andapplication of three-tier Client/Server. The purpose of this paper is to put forward amodel modified from the previous two-tier architecture and to design and materializethe next-generation billing system with high performance, convenient maintenanceand expansibility so that the carrier can provide the customers with new services.This paper includes four parts mainly.To begin with, it introduces its concept, advantages and applicable occasions.Then, there are two parts as follows: 1) I classified the key technology, that is tosay, the middleware, and described its functions. 2) I researched studied the TUXEDO,a middleware belonging to BEA and analyzed its component model, characteristicsand makeup.Moreover, according to the problems which lied in the previous Local Billing &Accounting System, I pointed to its shortcomings and put forward the plan to developnext-generation billing system with three-tier architecture. I give an example, namely,a billing-payment subsystem on the stage, to describe the steps to design andmaterialize the application with three-tier architecture in detail.Last but not least, I summarized the performance of the new system and expectedthe future of middleware.
