With the development of computer and its related technology, communications among two or more computers were needed to complete a common mission, and then the distributed system appears. So far there are many distributed computing technologies to support distributed systems, such as COM+, CORBA, EJB. However, traditional distributed components technologies have two mistakes that can not be overcome, one for the worse system interoperability, which the integration between one technology components of system and another one is difficult, the other is that traditional components technology is difficult to build a distributed system based on Internet. Because the communication protocol they used can not get through network firewalls and proxy servers. With the development of distributed components and Internet technology, there is an urgent need to establish a new distributed computing technology in the Internet, which develops a new generation of Internet-based distributed system. First of all, this technology must be independent of any manufacturers, platforms and languages; Second, it must provide better interoperability and integration than traditional; Finally, it was easy for programmers to develop, deploy and use. This is an important reason for the rise of Web Service, which fully meet all of the conditions. The structure of Web Service can truly resolve the current problem that each distributed solution can not conquer in order that each component model, Web system and even general application all can communicate and integrate each other. We analyze the shortcomings of existing distributed computing technology, study SOAP and Web Service technology and their advantages, and discuss how to develop distributed system with these technologies. Then we construct a Service Management system that is based on SOAP/Web service. In system, we develop server functions using pert programs as web services and deployed it in .NET platform; we develop client using C# language and run it in Windows XP platform, realize communication of different...
