With the development of the information society,the mankind is increasingly outstanding requirement for information.Communication plays an important role in various technologies of information transfer.Existing mobile communication service is mainly voice and cellular data services do not fulfill the needs of users and providers. In the case of this,GPRS network called 2.5G has been developed.Because in the intelligent transportation, the wireless data transmission technology has pivotal status, we have carried on the comparison to the current several kinds of wireless data transmission technology from the efficiency, the application scope and the application prospect, and chose the honeycomb mobile communication way to be the transmission plan in this paper.In the paper,we talk about technology of GSM and GPRS,and then compare them with each other.We choose wireless data transmission of GPRS at last because it's more reasonable,effective and economical.Then we have some emulates over the network capability of GPRS with Marcov model,and we analyze the result of emulates.We can see clearly the relation between channel distribution and block percentage, transmission rate,throughput of system.We bring forward a new communication plan of recording machine on vehicles based on ARM and GPRS PPP data transmission. We mainly study how to make GPRS module linked with network and some pivotal protocol,and then we have the design of hardware and software based on the design of project and make a lot of debugging.
