Antenna is needed to receive and launch electromagnetic wave. Because of its low section plane, low cost, and easy to integrate and so on, microstrip antenna brings to people enormous attention, having the widespread application prospect. Generally, microstrip antenna array is fed by microstrip line. By this way, the loss of energy is very high, and side lobe can not be effectively lowered. Waveguide is a kind of low loss transmission line. Energy can be coupled by slots in the waveguide's walls. So, in this paper, a new feeding method is proposed. It is a combination of aperture coupling from a slotted waveguide and coplanar feeding using series-fed microstrip line.This paper consists of two parts: on the one hand, the numeric method-NFDTD used to analysis this new kind of antenna is introduced. And its numeric error is analyzed. On the other hand, this new kind of antenna is studied and analyzed by NFDTD. Firstly, waveguide-slot-microstrip patch coupling structure is studied and designed. Secondly, series-fed array is studied and designed. Lastly, the array is made and measured.
