With the constantly expanding of the world economy, our country enlarges the exploitation of coal. In the background, the colliery safety accidents occur, which affects the normal work and shows the importance of colliery security information system.Nowadays, colliery security information system is based on industry bus, and composed of communication network. With the development of colliery exploitation, wired networks exist the lack of covering, expansibility, agility. Therefor, using the wireless network in the system becomes the more importance. The concept of wireless personal area network (WPAN) has been brought.ZigBee technology is an up-to-date communication technology, with the light protocol, lower cost, easy forming wireless networks.The paper is based on the shanghai impartnt science and technology project "The reseach of colliery security information system" Through comparing the wireless routing protocol and analyzing the characteristics of the protocol, I put forward a model of the basic routing protocol and set up the routing table, processing procedure of establishing and joining network, which makes reference to ZigBee alliance.Focus on colliery security information system, underground network need be composed by ZigBee network and wired network in order to expanding the control scope of system, enhancing the whole system ability. Through learning the wireless solution based on ZigBee technology of the freesacle company, we do the hardware design and set up experiment platform. We test performance of the wireless communication and evaluate the wireless communication solution.
