By analyzing the situations of the equipments for fault recorders home and abroad, aiming at the demand of power department and the practical applications, we designed the equipment for fault recorders based on DSP (TMS320LF2407A)&CPLD (XC9536) which is especially suitable for the Diesel Generating Set of low-voltage.The hardware frame and the methods to calculating the power parameters are mainly discussed in this thesis.With regard to the hardware design, we use the CPLD and DSPs to control the ADS7864, which can sample the six signals of voltage and current at the same time; the parameters (oil temperature, water temperature, jar temperature,oil pressure ) of diesel generators can be sampled by the inside AD of DSP. We use the CPLD to realize some control circuits, such as address decoder circuits and generate the sample impulses. The Communication part of this system provides the interface to the user by LonWorks , and it can receive the upper computer's commands ,set parameters and transmit the information.With regard to the software design, this paper analyzed the fault recorder's criterion of the diesel generator ; and we use the Fast Fourier Transform Algorithm( FFT) to analyze the harmonic of the voltage and current.The thesis put forward a new method to remove the reducing direct current .At the end of this paper, we realized the FFT's result on the platform of DSP(digital signal processor) and experimented on the Diesel Generator. Results of the test show all functions of the fault recorder are efficient.
