In the reverse engineering technology,the development of measuring equipment makes the mass data acquisition containing future details of targets possible, which has became the developing direction of high-precision measuring modeling. But the triangle mesh data measured is massive,and usually up to millions even ten millions of triangular patches,and this occupies too much storage and HD space of computer. For instance,more than 100G of HD space is occupied by the measured data of an airplane. This could not be processed high effectively by common 3D CAD software, which is a bottleneck in the Abstract Reverse engineering technology. In view of above problems, this article studies the key technology of mass data processing system, and design a system framework point to the triangle mesh data, which is made up of millions series of triangles. This framework resolves the problem that a computer could not read all the mass data into its storage and process them through data block partion, and also reduces the space that mass data occupies in HD by data compression. The main works are as following:1. In view of the large quantity of data obtained from optical measurement equipments, we put forward the idea of mass data process system framework, which is data realm division first and then block data compression according it, we establish conceptual framework base on that, and design system structure, data stream. And the functions for systems framework on this basis are designed.2. After studying EdgeBreaker Compression Algorithm, we put forward Triangle Mesh Compression Algorithm on the basis of original EdgeBreaker Compression Algorithm.3.
