Research Of Image Merging Method Based On Wavelet Transform

The technique of remote sensing is a newly integrated method .which was developed rapidly from 60s of twentieth century. It is based on the knowledge of modern physics, computer technology, mathematics and geo-science. With the development of space remote sensing which uses airplanes as its main vehicle and the development of sensors from photographing mode to scanning mode , it has stepped into a new phase for the research of the earth.As a data integration method, the image fusion could synthesize information from the images with high-spatial resolution and high-spectral resolution , and for the method could improve the image quality greatly, it was used widely in the remote sensing image processing. Current space remote sensing system could provide considerable of images with high-spatial resolution and high-spectral resolution high temporal resolution. As each kind of image data has its particular characteristic and particularly applied field, so how to integrate image information from various of sources fully , to overcome the shortage of unitary source in the automatic interpretation of remote sensing images , has become an urgent problem to solve. It influenced the use of great deal of data from remote sensing directly, thus, the image fusion has become a bottle-neck problem in the field of mass image data processing.
