If someone want to find needful things from the multitudinous network information ,search engine is the essential tool,it has been regarded to more and more people. now,the research on search engine is eager in the field of computer industry and academia. The application of Web Search Engine is not only in the Internet, PC, LAN, WLAN will be included.In the past ten years,Web Search Engine has evolved through three stages: Centralized Search, Distributed Search and Intelligent Search. Its techniques develop from only tradition search technique to multi-subject techniques. Nowadays, it is mainly focused on automation search, intelligent analysis and improved precision. In the future, the research areas will expand functions to fulfill users'various requirementsThis paper firstly introduces the ABC,the actuality of Web Search Engine, and paper's most work. secondly,it analyses the structure and principle of Web Search Engine in detail,and introduces the performance index.
