Workflow Management System Research And Practice Based UML Method

Workflow Management System is a software with the goal of automated or half-automated computer supported distributed and work cooperative workflow. With the rapid development and application of computer network, especially Internet/Intranet, the status of the computer supported distributed and work cooperative workflow system becomes more and more important in enterprises, it has a wide foreground as well. China Unicom--— Tai' an subsidiary company CRM system is an Intranet system based on enterprises, as a distributed workflow system, it is mainly used for the management of keeping touch with customers , products selling, channels, and so on, in addition, it can share data with other systems like charging system, if it can be connected with them.The paper mainly describes the universal workflow management system analysis and designing procedure with object oriented UML indicating its architecture, taking the developing of the China Unicom--—Tai' an subsidiary company CRM as example.The paper has three parts in all. The first part is the brief introduction of the background how the workflow system comes into being and its function. It also points out the reason why it is suitable to analyze and design using UML. The second part is the summary of the workflow management system, it is mainly about the modeling methods and their describing architectures, the characteristics, priorities of the UML and the developing principles, ways and steps using UML. It gives a brief depiction that how to analyze and design the workflow management system step by step using UML and the strong points and weak points of the system developing based on UML. It also takes the author' s practical developing as example to explain how to design and program the CRM system based on UML. The third part makes a conclusion of the workflow management system application characteristics based on UML, it also make a prospect of the WFMS development in the future as well, pointing that the WFMS has a wide foreground in our country.At present China Unicom----Tai' an subsidiary company' s CRM system hasalready partly put into practice, the running parts include customers maintaining, products selling, channels management and so on, it has integrated every major workflow, products combination and so resources effectively, promoting the managing efficiency and management level more.
