Research Of Mobile Stream Media Value-added Service Based On JAVA

With the rapid development of technology in Computer Science, Mobile Communications and Internet, value-added service of mobile Internet has got a wider development space than ever. Mobile communications and Internet are two focuses of the information industry now and they produce mobile Internet and its applications, which bring enormous bussiness opportunity to the information industry. At the same time, J2ME makes mobile telephone more powerful and just like a shrunken PC. Mobile telephone users can enjoy convenient services whenever and wherever they like.This paper introduces a platform for valued-added service based on mobile stream technology, makes the functions in three aspects such as mobile terminal, gateway and source server. Aim at most JAVA mobile's limitation, which can only support one or two format media even can't support stream media. This paper designes an application for decoding ASF stream media files that were encoded according to MPEG-4 standard, based on RTP protocol, MPEG-4 compressible codec and ASF format. This application can accept real-time stream media data. When the application makes real time intercommunication with stream media server, the accepted data will be analyzed and repacked in data packets, and these data packets are organized in origianl sequence of the stream media file. Then the sequential data pockets will be unpacked and reorganized according to the ASF file format and MPEG-4 standard, and tha data stream was decoded and become pictures that can show up in the screen. The main functions of the platform include browsing Internet with WAP, providing search service for mobile phone users, implementing OTA download of application software, supplying content service about stream media and transmitting real-time data according to the request from client.
