Since the middle of 1990s, Non-Photo-Realistic Rendering (NPR) has become one of the hottest research topics in Computer Graphics. NPR is the technology to generate the graphs which have manual drawing style, not the realistic effect as photograph. Its goal is mainly to display the graph's feature, simulating artic works or as the effective supplement of realistic graphs, not lies in the graph's authenticity. This paper has studied the automatic generation of Pencil Drawing systematically in NPR in virtue of Image Sharpening, Neon Processing, Image Segmentation, B-spline,Line Integral Convolution, Fourier Transform and so forth, improving and implementing a generation algorithm of Pencil Drawing. The detailed work as follows:First of all, we have improved the existed generation algorithms of Pencil Drawings and quickened the generation time greatly. Thus, this generation algorithm of Pencil Drawing will be applied in more fields.Further more, we have adopted other methods to find silhouette in image,painted the silhouette using generated stroke of physical model and improved the generation manners of Noise Image, to generate more styles and tones of Pencil Drawings.The last, we have explored the generation method of texture in Pencil Drawing deeply and simulated more realistic texture of Pencil Drawing.
