The purpose of this paper is to study remote sensing image database based on object-relational database using Oracle GeoRaster, the new provided space database schema by Oracle 10G.Oracle GeoRaster stores remote sensing image using a inner-defined object type: SDO_GEORASTER to realize the extension of relational model. The paper studies this data model including the generic raster data model and associated metadata model based on XML Schema. And a research on the remote sensing image database's special functions such as Georeferencing, Pyramiding, spatial indexing is also made.At last, a Client/Server Architecture of remote sensing image database system is proposed: Oracle GeoRaster is the server, and call the GeoRaster API at the client side to realize the store, index, query, analyze and deliver remote sensing image.
