Building a virtual lab adopted the networking technology and virtual instrument technology to realize the distant testing and controlling and resource sharing, can reduce the lab instrument hardware cost and provide a new modern teaching method for education. However, it needs a large mount of money to build a virtual lab. Usually some famous university can invest so much money to build the virtual lab. So it is hardly for some small colleges which are lack of investment to establish the virtual lab. The thesis puts forwards an economical solution based upon LabVIEW tools after studying the LabVIEW. Furthermore, the solution combing the module of distant synchronous teaching based-on CVS architecture with the module of student lab experiment based-on B/S architecture overcomes the shortcomings which there are only academic teaching in distant education. And it can provide both campus students and distant teaching students to do experiments.The thesis firstly introduce the background of the project, then it describes the concepts, the features, the trends, the software developing environment of the virtual instrument, and expounds the significance of the distant virtual lab. Meanwhile, the thesis introduces the data collecting procedures in LabVIEW after analyzing the principles of signal condition and bus technology and A/D transform technology. It gives out the architecture of network virtual lab which includes four modules: distant synchronous teaching, testing and controlling, simulating and emulating, real time measurement. It alsoimplements a virtual instrument--digital oscillograph. After analyzing thecommunication mode in LabVIEW, the thesis gives the examples using TCP or UDP communication, DataSocket technique communication, Web Server and remote panel technique communication. At the last, the thesis summarizes the whole work and prospects.
