The Research Of Mobile Agent Application In Network Performance Management Environment

With the continuous development of application and technology of computer network, the stability and reliability of running networks have become vital important, So the network management plays a very critical rule as results. Since the SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) was published at the end of 1980s, the network management technology has been developing rapidly. It becomes an essential element in constructing and maintaining networks along with the enhancement of management functions and expanding of managed objects.The current commercial network management softwares are almost based on SNMP frame. The management agent daemoning in the managed device is responsible for maintaining the MIB of the device. The management station is responsible for manipulating all the data. This model has exposured its disadvantages especially in the management of the large-scale network. Although the update version of SNMP protocol overcomes some disadvantages of concentrative management in some extent, but the ability of the manager is limited, and the management function is yet short of flexibility and intelligence.
