Research On Embeded Linux Operating System In Network Computer

Currently, the domestic core technologies of computers, such as operating systems, central processing unit (CPU) and so on, are imported from abroad. As these technologies can not be informed insider, our state's information security is seriously threatened. The emergence of network computers provides opportunities for the computer industry in our country. Through the expanding of network computers, it can increase the needs of our own operating systems and CPU, promote the development of these technologies, conclude the age of these core technologies importing from abroad and ensure the information security of our country.This thesis researches on the embedded Linux operating system in network computer according to the application demands in order to enhance the functions of network computers, reduce dependence of servers and expanding the application mode and area of network computers.The main content is as follows:(1) Analyze the architecture and starting flow of embedded Linux and the embedded Linux operating system in network computer is designed into five parts, system booting, Linux kernel modification, root file system establishment, graphics user interface construction and applications implementation.(2) According to the character of network computer finish the five parts mentioned before and develop a software production named"WangZhou Embedded Linux3.0 for NC".(3) To the problem that Linux file system is always damaged because of abnormal halting, the technique of INITRD (Initializing RAMDISK) is used to reduce the fault points. And then a method named instantaneous access to weak zone of file system is introduced. The possibilities of destroying filesystem are reduced further.(4) Testing task is done with the network computer using the embedded Linux operating system in three aspects, displaying performance of network computer, resource consuming of the server and net flow. The result of testing indicates that network computers with the embedded Linux operating system that has good performance in browsing and playing are fit for network education.The embedded Linux operating system realized in this thesis has fully function support, good performances and powerful cooperating computer ability.
