Study On The Architecture And Technology For Operating System In Network Computer

During these years, Network Computer and its technologies have become a focus of attention of IT industry. Especially in China, developed the NC industry can bring up the core technology of computer, which are the technology of CPU and OS, help our country establish completely industry chain from researched to produced. It has important tactic meaning for IT industry of our country, which can hold technology with independence knowledge rights and core computability, and bring preferably benefit in practice and theory.This paper researched architecture of embedded OS and its associate technology, aim at NC's different character by different mode, and manufacture practically embedded Linux for NC, base on Linux. This research some famous embedded OS, especially for embedded Linux, and find out their character of architecture, implement technology and actuality of development. We find that the embedded OS had often divided only two layers before, which are software layer and hardware layer, and, had divide more layers such as hardware layer, HAL, kernel, application etc. today. We consider the source of this change was that used common hardware system to reduced the cost of the develop hardware system, and primary cost of the system transfer to software system. So we must change the architecture of the software system, reduce the difficult of the development works and increase reusability of the software.By these works, according to the character that NC had more powerful hardware, this paper brings forward a new architecture of the embedded Linux by hierarchy method. This architecture was added API layer and middle software support layer at the original architecture. It divided OS to more parts so that every part became simpler. And, by two layers added, the difficult of the development was reduce, and workload was reduce by modified desktop's software to reuse in NC.And, We researched some pivotal problem of realization by the architecture, such as develop hardware devices' divers, cut size of the kernel, design the GUI etc., with this works we designed a embedded Linux OS in Eboat NC, which OS have independence knowledge rights.We had tested the Eboat NC's efficiency. Our data of the test indicate the Eboat NC have fully function support, good performance and powerful cooperating computer ability, in the system, which use a PC with C4 1.7G/256M/IDE hard disk, 30 NCs can run stream media application all together, and its performance is best of congener product. It has good effect by use as network education application in some school of Three Canyon. Region.
