Teachers' personal web sites are becoming more and more popular since the development of "Shi Hai Fan Zhou", the first personal instruction web site at the end of 1997. People from many fields are interested in teachers' personal web sites because of their education features and healthy content.According to this phenomenon, this dissertation discusses the problems of traditional development ways and management process, such as teachers lacking of web technology, the content in the web sites being updated more frequently, large amounts of non-structured data, and the more personalized demands. With reference to the successful cases about content management both home and abroad, the dissertation provides a detailed analysis of content management and its relative systems and then develops a content management system for the personal instruction web sites to solve these problems, based on Microsoft's IBuySpy Portal architecture.In the former part of the dissertation, some key words and main technologies are introduced. Chapter 2 is mainly concerned about the concepts of content, content management, and content management system and their classifications and features. Chapter 3 discusses IBuySpy Portal, including its structure to its working principle and presents one module as an example of the implement of a three-layer structure. This chapter is critical to the following system development.The need analysis has been implemented at the beginning of the system design lifecycle and the aim of system is defined from two perspectives: user and function required. This system helps teachers build a web site easily. Teachers without any technology can use the mouse to add and delete the content easily. The content management function provided by the system can help teachers create and update the content on time. The non-structured data is no longer useless. They can be organized by the document management as teaching resources that can be frequently reused.Chapter 5, the key of this dissertation, is about the design and development of the system. According to the aforementioned problems and the selected technology, this chapter provides the design and development of the systems, including the structure block diagram and static class diagram. Based on the structure of IBuySpy Portal, the system adds the functions of content management and document management. In addition, this chapter discusses in detail the data access layer, service logic layer and the presentation layer of each function module.The last chapter discusses the features of this system, and presents some programs for the further work.
