Videoconference system is an important application of multimedia technology and network technology. Although there are millions of kilometers among the conference offices, the attendant can see the others clearly through the screen. Videoconference technology has been greatly improved with the development of communication technology, computer technology, chip technology and information process technology. In videoconference system ,the mainly two protocols architecture are presented namely H.320 and H.323. In the next generation network, SIP protocol plays a more important role. The aim of multipoint control unit based on SIP protocol is to provide convinience for more and more sip terminals accessing to the videoconference system. Besides, the combination of SIP system and Softswitch avoids the disadvantage of complex of designing and difficult to extending of videoconfernce system based on H.320 or H.323 protocol.This thesis is divided into two parts according to the content:The first part consists of five chapters,and it mainly introduces the design and realization of a MC based on SIP.In the first chapter, backguound and target about the project is presented. In the second chapter and the third one , some relative techniques and functions have been introduced.In the fourth chapter ,the detail design and realization of the conference control layer is discussed. and the last one introduces the testing result and system performance analysis.The second part consists of the last chapter. It introduces the design and realization of an unit test tool.
