Development Of Embedded Platform And The Application On GPS

With the development of science and technology, the technology of computers is becoming the time of after-PC, and the embedded technology has been commonly used, and the focus of society. The embedded system, as the center of the application and emphasizing the reducibleness of the bulk and functions, is the special system which finishes the function of controlling or stakeout. The Global Positioning System (GPS) has the virtue of high precision, working day to night and no location-limiting. It's more precise and flexible and lower-cost than other location systems. The wide applications of the Global Positioning System (GPS) are more and more benefiting people's life. With the combination of the two technologies, this system realizes real-time showing the position information in map in this dissertation, combining the GIS.In this dissertation, an Embedded Application System Based on ARM S3C2410X is proposed as well as designed. It is connected with the GPS, and realizes the getting information of the position in GPS. This system is developed based on embedded processor and embedded Linux Operating System. It fully uses the high performance, low power and cost of the ARM, and develops the general I/O. It supplies the economical and perfect way of the applications of the GPS. The devices driver is the interface between the kernel and hardware. It makes the hardware invisible for the application programs, so that the programs operate the hardware as same as operate normal files.At first part introduces the definition and background of the embedded technology and the GPS, and introduces the meaning of the research in this paper. Then it introduces the whole system's designed scheme and principle, and introduces the hardware and software in the system, and the selection of the RTOS. And it builds a cross compiled environment, which used by the software development.
