Excitation system is an important part to keep synchronous motor and electric power system running steadily and safely.This paper researches a kind of micro-controller excitation equipment of synchronous motor that is based on 89C51 micro-controller. It describes the hardware of the system as a whole and introduces the design of exerting excitation unit, center control unit based on EPM7032 technology and the digital phase-shifting and pulse-generating unit in details.In the synchronous motor microcomputer excitation installment of this paper, we compile the software procedures which have complete function and rich content. Using the method and the design clew of the language VHDL, the module functions of single-chip microcomputer 8051, such as CPU module, timer or counter module, memory module and D/A converter module are achieved and proved to meet the demand.The software procedure and the hardware resources unify, which enables the equipment to have the high technical performance. In the software design, the procedures and the parameter establishment of two channels procedures are completely same, except an on-line revision parameter ( CH-CONFIG=1 primarily channel; CH-CONFIG=2 spare channel), and the function of these procedures is also same, which realizes the compatibility of the software procedure channel and causes the scene operator to facilitate the debugging. The synchronous motor microcomputer excitation installment regulator uses the modularized program design method and the multistage asynchronous interrupt control method.89C51 micro-controller and EPM7032 technology has a simple hardware and strong ability to resist the interference, it is programmed easily and easy to use varies controlling strategy.The realization of the microcomputer excitation installment provides the condition for using the control rule of the pole configuring self-tuning PID. The pole configuring self-tuning algorithm is complex, but the designed excitation controller which applies its principle has the good compatibility, which can at the right moment adjust the controller parameter according to the system parameter change and can realize the most superior excitation control of the synchronous motor. On the section of exciter strategy, this paper analyzes the use of pole configuring self-tuning PID control technology.
