Video Monitor-Record System Based On DSP

Digital signal process technology has been used comprehensively for its compute ability and special soft and hard structure; meanwhile the DSP chip is used widely in video processing and transmission field, because it's integration density, computing speed and digital taking in and sending out rate is improved continuously. In this paper, a video monitor-record system is described. Digital image compression technology is used in this system. It records the images of some certain locale and provides information for postmortem. This system has little volume and its own compact flash card, it can be installed and used independently, and can also be subsidiary in huge monitor-record system.The system is composed of image taking, image compressing, image data storing and file transmission these four parts. It takes image by signal image transmission, when the image data is saved in SRAM, DSP pick-up original image, judges that whether there is movement object or not, then it can compress difference frame or background frame, and also record the time information. The arithmetic of compressing adopts JPEG. After compression, the compressed image is saved in compact flash card. File transmission adopts USB interface by Mass Storage Transport. In computer, the compressed images are decompressed in Visual Basic software, and combined to a common video file, and it is convenient for information inquiry.
